Marja-Liisa Sutinen

Dr. Marja-Liisa Sutinen is a senior scientist at the Natural Resources Institute Finland. She got a Master’s degree and Phd in plant physiology (1993) at the University of Oulu. She has published 77 peer reviewed papers and few book chapters. She has been the director (1999-2003) of Kolari research unit of the Finnish Forest Research Institute. She worked in the joint professorship between the Finnish Forest Research Institute and Oulu University during the time 2003–2008. Marja-Liisa’s main interest ihas been in functioning of tree line ecosystems and forest management in changing climate. Her current projects focus on dynamic of spruce tree line in Finnish Lapland.
